Position Description :
The Test Prep Instructor provides SAT preparation instruction to high school students. This includes teaching English and Math concepts, test-taking strategies, and using innovative teaching methods to engage students. Instructors teach all sections of the SAT, including math (up to Algebra II), reading comprehension, and writing. SAT Prep Instructors have 1 : 1 and small group tutoring opportunities. The curriculum and all class materials are provided.
Responsibilities
Provide SAT preparation instruction to high school students, focusing on English and Math concepts and test-taking strategies
Utilize learning technology to enhance teaching methods and engage students effectively
Implement customized lesson plans to address individual student needs
Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve curriculum and tutoring techniques
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and Tri-Ed staff to support student progress and success
Minimum Experience Level :
Experience tutoring or teaching for at least 1 year (preferred)
Experience working with high school-age students
Required Skills / Certifications
Comfortable teaching all sections of the SAT or ACT (math through Algebra II, and science)
Able to commit to tutoring until the end of the year (around mid-June 2025)
Must have reliable transportation (cant be only Metro)

Able to commit to 4-8 hours of tutoring per week
Education
Bachelors degree (required)

Pay : $40-$55 per hour
Travel stipend for in home visits
