The GIS Analyst will report directly to the Director of Analysis, Midstream and provide a variety technical support and GIS mapping to the Company’s business segments including Midstream and Trading. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to prioritize, schedule and logistically support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. This position requires a motivated and organized self-starter with a passion for accuracy and integrity, who can manage his or her time efficiently and effectively. More importantly, the ideal candidate will be able to keep the business development, regulatory, operations and financial teams’ GIS files organized.
Key Responsibilities
- Create unique and proprietary ad-hoc maps pulling on various sources of information including client provided shape files and KMZs, ARM database sources such as Drilling Info / Enverus, RexTag and internally generated ARM files
- Complete GIS related reporting, mapping and analysis requests
- Obtain and maintain accurate geographic market data for the region(s)
- Research, catalog, and inventory GIS data
- Manage the built pipeline databases by maintaining an organized file system that differentiates between existing assets, projects under construction and prospective business development maps / GIS datasets
- Have a deep knowledge of underlying data systems such as shape files
- Extract geographic information from various databases including Texas Railroad Commission
- Proactively communicate directly with internal team members managing expectations, issues, and time frames
- Provide technical expertise to the other managers for services provided by or related to pipeline information and GIS systems
- Support the engineering and construction teams in management report outs with respect to ROW and construction progress
- Maintain quality standards on all projects
- Perform other relevant duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Education, Skills, Experience
- Associates degree in Engineering, Geography, AutoCAD, GIS or equivalent education and experience, along with a high school diploma or GED is required
- 2 years of related work experience in the oil and gas industry is strongly preferred
- Experience with Midstream facilities is a plus
- Understanding of engineering/GIS principles and terminology is required
- Advanced skills in MS Office and prior experience working with AutoCAD is a plus
- Proficiency in ArcGIS
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines is a must
- This position requires a quick learner that demonstrates clear accountability, strong attention to detail and can adapt easily whether working independently or with a team
- Candidate must possess strong communication and problem-solving
