Duties & Responsibilities :
The Electronic Security Systems Support Technician is responsible for all Electronic Security Systems at NWC which reside on the NWC networks. This includes all LENEL, Bosch, Milestone, Alertus / Informacast, Mass notification, and related systems. These systems need to be maintained by manufacturer (ie LENEL, Bosch, etc.) certified technicians to maintain the FICAM / HSPD12 compliant systems.Electronic Security Systems Support Technician will need to hold Value Added Reseller (VAR) status for LENEL systems to be able to maintain the systems. There is a requirement to provide onsite technical support to design, build, install, configure, maintain, and operate an HPSD-12 FIPS 140-2 compliant ESS. This work will be performed working alongside NWC employees who administer and operate the LENEL and associated ESS. Onsite support will be provided by certified LENEL technicians, and contractor must be a LENEL Value Added Reseller (VAR) to access / maintain the LENEL systems. NWC Currently uses Milestone, Informacast, LENEL, and Bosch systems to support the ESS requirements. The LENEL system at NWC consists of approximately 12 Buildings, several temporary structures, all of which currently utilize 4420 Intelligent System Controllers (ISC) boards, 1320 boards, 1100 alarm input boards, multiple card readers, and other associated hardware and software. Hardware and software subject to change as requirements dictate. NWC has an estimated 1600 users. NWC is currently running LENEL for Access control and Bosch and LENEL for IDS. NWC has Verdict Stealth Dual Lite readers, with keypads, and without. NWC utilizes Milestone for all video requirements with Axis cameras. The Milestone system is integrated with LENEL. For the mass notification portion of ESS, NWC currently utilizes informacast with cisco VOIP phones (blue phones) located throughout the campus.The Electronic Security Systems Support Technician will support with system design, design review, installation, programming, updating firmware and software, troubleshooting, service, maintenance and repair of all ESS.Electronic Security Systems Support Technician would also be responsible for supplying all necessary licensed hardware for new installations and repairs, charged to the discretionary funds as authorized. All work is required to be managed and logged utilizing the NWC ticketing system, currently SolarWinds. Support would be required under differing Service Level Agreements (SLA) depending on the impact of each task / restoration (ie SCIF, common space, etc.).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) :
In-depth background in security technology and integrationStrong technical and analytical comprehension of electronic security industry related terms and system featuresExceptional customer service skills; ability to anticipate and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being promptedAbility to understand basic technical explanations and convey updates regarding technical matters to both internal and external audiences.Must be able to meet and maintain various certifications, licenses and / or registrations, in accordance with applicable laws and as required by the electronic security regulations.Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and technical knowledge preferred.Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projectsStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Strongly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.Maintain continuous accountability of supplies and ESS equipment. High School DiplomaMust have at least 3 full years of experience in the low voltage / CCTV / security industryMust be able to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documentsMust be able to utilize basic hand tools, electrical meters, and understand relay theoryExperience and CORE certifications in LENEL / Bosch security systems are required.
