Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 34 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Construction Inspector to join our construction management team.
The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience with designing, installing, constructing, and inspecting various types of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing elements; including but not limited to fire rated construction, fire/smoke dampers, electrical panels, concrete/masonry wall construction; etc., and holds valid driver's license for use of visiting various construction sites across New York and New Jersey.
If selected, candidates will need to provide digital proof of licensure and certification for all U.S.-based accolades, including academic degree, before time of interview. Information provided is handled with discretion and will be used purely for benefit of employment with various government agency clients and associated background checks.
This position will begin full-time, On-site, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and may transition into assignments on various construction work sites across New York and New Jersey, such as LaGuardia Airport, JFK International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, and various bus terminals as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work under various engineering managers and quality assurance division heads to oversee ongoing construction of various civil job sites.
- Attend acceptance inspections of new construction to confirm that work performed meets requirements of approved contract drawings.
- Read and perform inspections on contract drawings to ensure quality of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing elements
- Liaise with construction teams, either electronically from main office building, or directly in-person to ensure proper adherence to drawing code and upkeep is performed across all phases of construction.
- Organize and prepare work reports on all ongoing projects.
- Perform additional responsibilities as necessary.
- At least 10 years of experience with designing, installing, constructing, and inspecting various types of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing elements; including but not limited to fire rated construction, fire/smoke dampers, electrical panels, concrete/masonry wall construction; etc.
- Working knowledge of construction codes for New Jersey, New York City, and New York State, along with the related referenced standards such as ADA Standards, etc.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- An associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in Architecture or Engineering, or credits toward completion of a degree from an accredited College or University preferred, but not required.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- OSHA 10 at minimum (additional training will be provided, if required). Supported scaffold training may be required as well, as need by project.
- Ability to pass a TWIC, SIDA, and/or SWAC background check at a high level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
