What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities/Maintenance Worker (Full Time) position at Armand Hammer United World College?
Purpose : Maintains property and ensures that facilities are kept in good repair and working order. Under direction, performs minor to moderate repairs to buildings, facilities, and service equipment. Operates the collection and distribution systems, pump and storage facilities, all other related equipment, and performs all other work as may be assigned.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities :
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Performs minor to moderate repairs to building fixtures
- Performs minor plumbing repairs in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes.
- Assists in maintaining boiler
- Maintains & repairs minor electrical malfunctions and installs new equipment
- Acts as a carpenter in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings
- Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools carefully and as instructed
- Completes work orders for painting and building repairs, indicating materials used and time involved
- Assists in maintaining and operates water pumping, storage, and distribution systems
- Assists in maintaining wastewater pumping and collection systems, and water and sewer maintenance equipment
- Does a walk through of campus buildings and inspects for damage and / or safety hazards
- Replaces bulbs and performs touch up painting
- Be on call, work shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. May involve swing shift work up until 10p
- Work overtime as needed.
- Does snow removal as needed
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :
High School graduation or GED, plus one (1) year of providing maintenance services.
