The Salary Range for our Shipping and Receiving Clerk job is $17.00-$20.00 per hour. Refer to the job description below :
Summary / Objective : The shipping and receiving clerk position completes Fed Ex and UPS online shipping paperwork, prepares Bills of Lading and other shipping and receiving paperwork, and verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Executes scheduled daily shipping paperwork and requirements including expedited shipments paperwork.
- Maintains and updates the Syteline system by daily review and recording of issued purchase order packing slips and receipt of material from outside subcontractors, all receipts of production materials and supplies from actual count, job transactions from final inspection department, shipments with customer order, line and release taken from production schedule and customer orders.
- Issues purchase order packing slips to outside vendors.
- Performs / prepares Bill of Lading Paperwork for incoming pickups, online Fed Ex and UPS shipment processing and tracking.
- Contacts trucking companies (common carriers) to schedule external carrier pick-ups of outbound shipments.
- Ensures that outbound shipments are picked up on time.
- Maintains inventory of finished goods.
- Packs product and ensure that packing slip is in placed in package(s).
- Issues requisitions to ensure that the required levels of packaging materials are on hand.
- Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Verifies packing slip accuracy against received items, inspects received goods for damage, records the receiving(s), and signs off on travelers to ensure downstream distribution to the correct party / location.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production / storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
- Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Completes and / or maintains required reports and records.
- Adheres to all safety policies and practices, consistently uses personal protective equipment, and practices good housekeeping.
- Maintains regular on time attendance and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Maintains a positive and professional approach with all internal and external customers.
- Performs other tasks as directed.
Educational, Experience Based, and Skill Qualifications
Physical Requirements
Ability to type on the computer, read on the computer screen, sit for extended periods of time, load 1 ream of copy paper into the desktop printer, and lift up to and including less than 35 pounds as needed.
