CWI/Safety/Quality Manager

Key Responsibilities
Safety:
- Implements Safety Policy & Procedure in compliance with all Federal, State and OSHA rules & regulations.
- Will enforce & uphold all safe work practices and policies, performing safety meetings and modeling behaviors.
- Inspects Plant facilities for existing or potential accident and health Hazards and determines corrective or preventive measures where needed.
- Responsible for implementing safety plans
- Performs New Hire Safety Orientations and other safety training and maintains appropriate records
- Assists with risk assessments and site inspections
- Formulates and suggests work safety standards
- Maintains forklift and crane training logs
Quality:
- Ensure compliance with internal quality control and process improvement systems.
- Effectively communicate internally and externally on any customer quality issues that may arise.
- Investigate problems and assist in the development of error proofing. Define, analyze, and implement process changes, which are permanent.
- Contribute to problem solving and corrective action plans
- Inspects product as needed to ensure quality standards are met
- Manage a small team
CWI
- Perform daily inspection of welded and bolted components of construction projects monitoring quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings and project specifications
- Inspection may include visual/physical inspection and field testing to verify conformance with the plans and specifications
- Prepare inspection reports and provide written documentation of observations and testing of materials
- Communicate findings to the Plant Manager.
- Adhere to strict safety standards
- Performs testing, observation, and inspection of welded and bolted connections
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Provides clear documentation of findings and results
- Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submission to the Plant Manager.
- Maintains equipment and calibration
- Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects
- Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work
- Will be responsible for updating and writing WPS's and PQR's
Other duties
- Lead a small team, assist with annual reviews
- Any other duties assigned by management
Requirements
- American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Required
- Experience in safety management, with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, CHST) are a plus
