Armstrong Teasdale is seeking a Docket Administrator to join the firm. The Docket Administrator manages the docket system to track deadlines and mitigate malpractice. This role may support US or foreign docketing processes and may support Litigation or Intellectual Property.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Handle and monitor docket management for filing deadlines including response dates for attorneys

2. Research current rules and practices and oversee docketing procedures

3. Supervise and provide professional development to other team members within the docketing department

4. Generate daily and weekly attorney and client reports as requested

5. Work with IT to ensure updates and maintenance to the docketing database system remain current

6. Serve as point person with the docketing database system vendor

7. Manage and enter data into docketing database systems, generating/routing docket sheets to attorneys and their administrative support

8. Review transferred new matters and enter due dates into the docketing system

9. Process and docket e-mail requests from attorneys, secretaries, and others

10. May report correspondence to clients

11. May download and save pleadings to the firm’s internal document management system / case docket and circulate to the case team

12. May prepare patent application filing requests and transmittals, file Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) patent applications electronically, and all associated prosecution filings and client correspondence

13. May file foreign applications (via direct or national/regional phase) via foreign patent counsel, and all associated formality requirements and non-substantive actions during foreign prosecution

14. May review and approve patent invoices from foreign counsel

15. May assist with conducting Internet research and patent screening searches

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education: Paralegal or Associate’s degree

Required Licenses and/or Certifications: None

Required Experience: 2-4 years related experience

Preferred Experience: 3-5 years related experience

Supervisory Responsibilities:Indirect

Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer.
