Beach and Pool Lifeguard Positions
Part-time, School-Year and Summer Hours Available
Pay will be based on Experience and Certifications as follows:
- Pool Lifeguard $18 to $23 pay range
- Ocean Lifeguard $23-$25 pay range
- Lead Lifeguard $25-$30 pay range
Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:

Perform beach and pool lifeguarding duties.

Perform emergency water rescues.

Recognize and respond appropriately to emergencies and safety hazards.

Administer first aid and CPR as necessary.

Operate and maintain lifeguard and emergency rescue equipment efficiently.

Enforce applicable beach rules and regulations.
-
Respond to inquiries from campers, staff, and the general public.

Provide clear and concise oral and written communications.

Carry out oral and written instructions.

Mediate conflicts between campers and report any crucial concerns to senior staff.

Promptly notify an administrator or senior staff when there is reason to believe a camper is at risk or in danger due to such issues as program failure, bullying, sexual harassment/misconduct, depression, or suicide ideation.

Follow and enforce personnel guidelines as outlined in summer Personnel Policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Desired Qualifications:
-
Previous professional lifeguarding experience (1-3 years).

Experience working in an educational environment or summer camp setting.

Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of international campers, staff, and faculty.

Ability to establish cooperative relationships calmly and tactfully.

Strong communication and customer service skills.
-
Possession of effective verbal and written communication techniques.
Required Qualifications:
-
Minimum 18 years of age.
-
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to swim with endurance and proficiency at a level necessary to perform assigned duties.

Lifeguard Certification Red Cross or equivalent
-
CPR for the Professional Rescuer
-
Title 22 first aid training (Emergency Medical Technician certification preferred)
Salary : $18 - $30
