This position is located at the Army Installation Management Command Schofield Barracks Auto Skills Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and administer a self-help program within the auto crafts center, ensuring safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Provide technical assistance and training to patrons on performing automotive repairs, including engine overhauls and transmissions, as well as body work.
- Inform patrons of shop policies and provide instructions on safe and efficient use of all equipment and associated tools.
- Offer individual and group instruction to military personnel and other eligible patrons, developing lesson plans and preparing training aids and instructional materials.
- Plan publicity efforts and provide technical guidance and leadership to employees.
- Train new employees, supervise their work, and provide instructions on tasks, collecting fees and safeguarding funds and equipment.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of general work experience, which may have been gained through teaching or instructing, supervising subordinates or fellow workers, or applying principles and techniques in the automotive field.
- OR
- A four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in education or a subject area related to the automotive field.
- Be able to obtain certification to conduct Hawaii State Vehicle Inspections within one year of appointment.
