**Job Summary**
This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic. The purpose of this position is to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, inspect, and/or overhaul complex combat, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment with interconnected systems.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair a variety of complex vehicles and equipment
- Maintain and inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition
- Overhaul and modify vehicles and equipment as needed
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to lower-grade employees
Requirements
- Experience in diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying complex vehicles and equipment
- Ability to apply independent judgment to determine methods and techniques required to solve maintenance and repair problems
- Experience testing, inspecting, and evaluating work performed on vehicles and equipment
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment
- Able to establish effective professional working relationships
- May be required to work overtime
