About the Position:
">- The Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team.
- As a Machinist, you will be responsible for performing machining operations using conventional and Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools.
- You will also set up and operate various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, or saws.
- Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches is an essential part of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Performs setup processes and operates CNC, manual, and precision measurement equipment on raw stock.
- Operates tools such as lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, bench, plain, or universal milling machines, slotters, broaching machines, grinders, and radial drills.
- Reads and interprets blueprint drawings; performs quality checks.
- Performs precision handiwork to finish, fit, and assemble machined parts.
Requirements:
- Able to do the work of a Machinist without more than normal supervision.
- Ability to perform machining operations using close tolerances.
- Working knowledge of tooling required to produce features, tolerances, and surface finishes to specifications.
