The New York State Canal Corporation is seeking Trades Specialists (CNC Machinists) to utilize Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) equipment and associated Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM) software to machine, create and fabricate parts and tools with precise measurements and tolerances.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning tools and materials required for production, and the sequence of operations to be performed
- Selecting proper materials for the job and laying out stock for machining by measuring and marking dimensions and reference points
- Machining parts to specifications and checking accuracy using precision measuring devices
Qualifications include a successful completion of a two-year traineeship, or four years of experience in the machinist trade utilizing CAM software and technology, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional qualifications may include a valid driver's license and meeting the minimum requirements for appointment.
