Position Reports to: Controller
Overall Responsibilities:
Primary duties will include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Responsible for cash applications of firm fees to the proper client/matter numbers
- Deposits checks and posts payments (checks and electronic payments) on a daily basis
- Monitoring and reporting of Lockbox deposits
- Reports daily cash receipts posted
- Assists Senior Cash Application Specialist with reconciliations of payment history based on client or attorney need
- Maintains/monitors email boxes and distributes to the appropriate staff
- This individual will also work on unapplied cash posting and research
- Overtime may be required on occasion
- Other duties/tasks as assigned
Required skills:
- Effective communication, both orally and in writing. Ability to follow instructions from attorneys and staff and to provide information with courtesy and tact
- Ability to effectively handle telephone calls and emails within established Firm etiquette and professionalism
- Proficiency in operating a computer, telephone, voice-mail and other office equipment.
- Ability to be team oriented, present professional demeanor, and gain the respect and cooperation of peers within the Accounting Department
- Excellent organizational skills for prioritizing numerous tasks and completing them within various time constraints
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and other standard office software. Aderant/CMS experience is a plus
- Detailed and deadline oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Highly motivated and dedicated
- Ability to work with minimal supervision or as a team
- Ability to work overtime as needed, primarily during year end
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions
- Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word
Mental/Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Indoor offices with controlled temperatures with limited exposure to noise, dust, chemicals.
- Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
- May sit for long periods of time.
- Crouching, kneeling standing, walking, pushing pulling and lifting occasionally
- Operating a personal computer, telephone, voicemail and other office equipment on a regular basis.
- Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
- Must have the ability to convey detailed information in a clear and concise manner through spoken word.

Non-Exempt
HOURS:
Full Time: 9:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (1 hour lunch)
Overtime and flexibility may be required
