Position Purpose:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Security Analyst Intern to join our team at Arnall Golden Gregory. As a Security Analyst Intern, you will assist in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and security of our organization's information systems and data. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about cybersecurity and eager to gain hands-on experience in the legal sector's unique cybersecurity challenges. They will also be involved in incident response, security monitoring, and security policy enforcement. They will work on various concurrent projects which progress at a pace driven by the firm's business objectives. The Security Analyst must also be able to demonstrate the following proficiencies:
Major tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.
- Assist in investigating and mitigating security incidents, including creating detailed incident reports.
- Support regular risk assessments to identify weaknesses in systems, applications, or processes.
- Collaborate with IT and legal teams to update and enforce security policies and procedures.
- Assist in scanning systems for vulnerabilities and work with the team to address any issues.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies relevant to the legal industry.
- Help ensure the firm’s compliance with relevant data protection laws, such as GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA.
- Maintain logs, security tools, and compliance documentation.
- Review training and awareness program to educate users about security best practices and procedures.
- Collaborating with firm leadership for custom reporting needs.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Knowledge of legal and compliance standards related to data security in the legal field.
- Hands-on experience with security tools like Wireshark, Nessus, or Splunk.
- Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanning, and endpoint security solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to analyze complex security data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively report findings and recommendations.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn from team members.
