AMHC is excited to announce an opening for an Adult BHH Peer Support Specialist in the Calais area. This full-time position is integral to providing peer support services within the community. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will demonstrate recovery-based values, assist individuals with recovery goal planning, and offer activities and interventions that promote engagement and the development of recovery skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate collaborative activities to build recovery skills and support clients in their journey.
- Provide compassionate advocacy and serve as a respectful role model.
- Assist clients with goal-setting and recovery planning, ensuring each individual’s needs are met.
- Maintain adherence to AMHC’s policies and procedures to promote excellence in service delivery.
- Work flexible hours to accommodate client needs and ensure quality service.
Schedule:
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position.
- High School Diploma required.
- Must be currently receiving or have received services (peer support experience).
- Must be willing to self-identify as a person with lived experience in recovery.
- A valid Driver's License and reliable transportation are required.
- Willingness to obtain the Intentional Peer Support Specialist Certification within the required timeframes.
