Aroostook Regional Transportation System, Inc. ("ARTS"), a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 1979 that provides demand-response door-to-door transportation services for the people of Aroostook County, Patten/Stacyville in Penobscot County and Danforth in Washington County, is seeking to fill the position of Finance and Human Resources Manager.
Finance Duties and responsibilities include: leading the annual budgeting and planning process; administering/reviewing all financial plans and budgets and identifying, explaining, and correcting variances; overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements; maintaining internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures; leading the annual audit process; overseeing all financial, project/program and grants accounting; ensuring that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period; collating financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundation grants; managing organizational cash flow forecasting; managing and tracking the performance of invested assets; and ensuring that all donations are processed, acknowledged, and accurately entered in QuickBooks.
Human Resources duties and responsibilities include: Overseeing and enhancing the Agency's human resources functions and administration, including professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training, and recruiting; establishes and managing a comprehensive training program to educate employees regarding staff tools, policies, and procedures; overseeing the functionality, maintenance, security of information, and upgrading of office computers, printers, photocopiers, and telephone system.
Candidates for the position must have the following qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting, or the equivalent in education and closely related work experience, and at least five years of progressively responsible, management level experience in finance and office administration, including final responsibility for the quality and content of financial data, as well as reporting and audit coordination (at least at the department level); prior management-level human resources experience; technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installation and managing relationships with software vendors; experience and a proven track record in grants management strongly preferred; intermediate to advanced knowledge of, and ability to use, QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Programs.
