Overview:
The candidate will have a combination of leadership, management and coordination on major design/programs, across planning, design and delivery. This individual will provide leadership in delivery of programs across Arora wheel within the US and Overseas interacting with both internal and external parties. The Individual will develop and maintain a high level of client interaction/relationship in the NY Market. The Individual must demonstrate an interest in supporting and developing business opportunities in existing and new markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning: Terminal/Building and associated facilities planning/visioning with passenger experience focus. Developing facility guidelines for requirements and collaborating with internal and external teams to establish programming goals.
- Design: Provide leadership for Arora in overall design management and leadership on large/major programs. Provide effective and collaborative design coordination to meet project goals/objectives. Lead internal and external (sub consultant) multi-disciplinary teams for successful design delivery within budget and schedule.
- PM Support: Help the PM team by supporting project compliance and reporting needs. Provide cost estimating analysis and lead value engineering efforts. Provide inputs for planning schedules, scope and budgets. Support developing standards/guides for business units in related activities or cross over efforts assuring seamless delivery and harmony on major projects/programs.
- Client: Provide Owner Representation on programs assuring Client coordination. Delivering quality presentations and professional communication for both technical or management discussions, meetings and workshops.
- Diversity: Represent company interests in diversity focused organizations locally (NYM), identify potential candidate and company talents/skills to bring into projects as necessary. Support hiring and talent development goals.
- Business Development: Support NYM lead in developing business opportunities, client relationships, market expansion, and global initiatives. Assist in proposal development from a technical perspective. Continue to evolve current relationships with key agencies and clients to support Arora pursuits and plans.
- Cross Business Unit Support: Support and demonstrate leadership in key initiatives that require cross business expertise across Planning, Design, Construction and Enterprise solutions on select major programs/projects.
Required Skills:
- Administrative Strength: Organized and detail-oriented, with proven skills in managing and maintaining schedules, deliverables, budgets and team collaborations.
- Management: Manage multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external (subconsultants). Demonstrate key understanding of program goals/objectives and communicate expectations for team delivery.
- Tools: Demonstrated ability in all design tools, project information management software and a fast learner for new emerging technologies in design/construction space.
- Change and Risk Management: Basic understanding of change and risk identification and prioritization to assure mitigation measures are implemented.
Other:
- Travel: Up to 20% travel on both International and Domestic efforts.
- Mentoring: Ability to mentor interns, recent graduates internally. Offer mentoring/protege ability to external diverse organizations (WTS - GNY etc.)
- Leadership: Demonstrate people, team, thought and design leadership as necessary.
- Collaborative: Works well in a team environment - providing support to mentors, mutual respect with peers and team members and emerging leadership skills with teams.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business or related discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years experience (planning, engineering/architecture design or construction projects).
Licenses and/or Certifications:
- PE, RA or similar
