Westchester Community College Control Center Operator - Arrow Security - White Plains Region
Shift Available:
Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 2:30pm
Pay Rate: $25.38/hr
Position Summary:
Monitors campus alarm systems, CCTV systems and emergency phone systems. Coordinates response to campus emergencies including: notification of emergency services, Security Officer response, management notifications, etc. Dispatches contract Security Officers for routine operations.
Maintains meticulous records of all communications and security related events on campus.
Dispatches Security Officers, monitors security & safety systems, and coordinates response efforts. This is a position of limited authority over Security Officers to include the giving of instructions, dispatching and assigning work. This position is expected to provide task level supervisory oversight
of Security Officers on their tour. This position does not have supervisory authority for the
evaluation/coaching/discipline of Security Officers.

What You'll Do:
- Monitors security systems including access control system, intrusion alarms, emergency phones, etc.
- Coordinates security response to alarm conditions, suspicious activity and emergency situations.
- Dispatches Security Officers for service calls and routine duties.
- Monitors life-safety systems.
- Makes notifications to all emergency service organizations (Fire, Police, EMS, etc.) in the event of a life-safety or other campus emergency.
- Monitoring and control of all security communications to ensure proper radio and telephone etiquette/discipline is maintained.
- Gives instructions to Security Officers as necessary to respond appropriately to situations that arise and/or changing conditions.
- Primary responsibility for receiving and responding to emergency communications to include ascertaining all necessary and pertinent information, coordinating response and making appropriate
notifications as required.
- May perform the duties of a Security Officer in accord with post orders and company policy.
What You Need:
- H.S. diploma or G.E.D.
- 3 years of security-related training or experience, including at least one year in a position similar in scope to the position at Westchester Community College.
- Must have and maintain PowerPhone Advanced Law Enforcement Dispatch certification or equivalent.
- Experience must be sufficient to meet the requirements of the assigned site, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, as determined by the company.
