Wedding Banquet Captain / Coordinator in-Training Position:
The Wedding Banquet Captain / Coordinator in-Training position offers hands-on experience in the hospitality industry, beginning with banquet management and progressing toward wedding coordination upon successful completion of the program.
Primary Duties:
- Eager to learn and absorb knowledge of the Hospitality Industry as a whole.
- Communicates openly and professionally with any suggested improvements for the Wedding Coordinator department and the overall operation of events.
- Assist Wedding Coordinators in various interactions with clients after a signed contract is received through the completion of their event including but not limited to: emails, phone calls, payment reminders, processing received payments, planning meetings, private tastings, rehearsals, walk throughs and day of coordination.
- Works well with all departments: Sales, Set Up, Kitchen, Food & Beverage staff, Golf, Maintenance and Administration; as well as with the General Manager.
- Training conducted under all departments to maximize industry knowledge all around.
- Cooperation and ability to fill in any staffing gaps when needed due to staffing challenges.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all vendors.
- Coordinates and/or Assists with all In House events.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Ability to multitask in a timely, professional and accurate manner.
- Ability to handle complaints or high stress situations calmly and professionally on and off the floor.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- Attention to detail to ensure all aspects of the event are coordinated smoothly.
- A Complete Knowledge of all Wedding Planning SOPs and follows them within day-to-day activities.
- Understands or has the ability to learn the basics of bartending, serving and food & labor costs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience as a Banquet Captain or of equivalent supervisory role preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service, event planning, or the hospitality industry is often preferred but not always necessary.
- Experience in roles such as an event assistant, administrative assistant, or in food and beverage service can be helpful.
- Internships or volunteer work related to wedding planning, event coordination, or other large events can provide valuable experience.
- Experience in wedding and event coordinating is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as weddings often take place outside of standard business hours.

- Full Time: $23.00 Per Hour
