About the Role:
The Assistant Swim Team Coach plays a vital role in developing and enhancing the skills of swimmers at various levels within the team. This position involves working closely with the head coach to implement training programs that promote athletic excellence and foster a positive team environment. The assistant coach will be responsible for providing individualized feedback to swimmers, ensuring they are progressing in their techniques and overall performance. Additionally, this role includes organizing practice sessions, coordinating swim meets, and supporting the overall mission of the swim program. Ultimately, the assistant coach contributes to building a strong, competitive swim team that encourages personal growth and teamwork among its members. This is a seasonal position that should be applied for in conjunction with a lifeguarding position. Assistant Swim Team Coaches will support Head Coach(es) at swim meets in organizing and calling team members for their events, and occasionally filling in at practice when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in competitive swimming or coaching.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coaching at the youth or high school level.
- Knowledge of swim training techniques and competitive strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily swim practices on occasion.
- Provide instruction and feedback to swimmers on technique, starts, turns, and finishes.
- Help organize and manage swim meets, including logistics and team communication.
- Monitor swimmer progress and maintain records of performance and attendance.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation and sportsmanship.

Hours can range between 8:00 AM - 10:00PM depending if scheduled for practice, lifeguard hours, or swim meets.
