About the Role:
As a Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons at our aquatic facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor activities in and around the water, preventing accidents and responding swiftly to emergencies. You will be trained to administer First Aid and CPR, providing immediate assistance when needed. Additionally, you will enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment for everyone. Ultimately, your vigilance and preparedness will contribute to a positive and secure experience for all visitors. This is a seasonal position, both full and part time positions are available. Our seasons runs from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to swim proficiently and perform rescues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous lifeguarding experience.
- Additional certifications in water safety or rescue techniques.
- 16 and older preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor pool areas to ensure the safety of all guests.
- Respond to emergency situations with appropriate Lifeguard Rescue, First Aid and CPR techniques.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
- Conduct regular safety checks of equipment and facilities.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patrons.
- Participate in staff trainings to refine life saving skills.
Skills:
The required skills of Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR are essential for responding to emergencies effectively, ensuring that you can provide immediate care to those in need. Your ability to use equipment, such as rescue flotation devices, will be critical in performing rescues and ensuring safety. Responding to emergency situations requires quick thinking and the ability to remain calm under pressure, which will be a daily necessity in this role. Following written and oral instructions is vital for adhering to safety protocols and ensuring that all procedures are executed correctly. Physical exertion is a part of the job, as you will need to be fit and agile to perform rescues and maintain a vigilant watch over the aquatic area.
Most shifts are 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM, occasional need for 1:00 PM-10:00 PM or 5:00 PM-10:00 PM for special events as needed.
