Job Summary:
The Banquet Manager at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center oversees all banquet operations, ensuring the seamless execution of corporate conferences, social events, and large-scale functions. This role involves coordinating with clients, managing banquet staff, maintaining high service standards, and driving profitability while delivering exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a passion for hospitality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to both luxury and high-volume environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with the sales and events team to plan and execute corporate meetings, conferences, weddings, and social events.
- Ensure banquet setups align with client expectations, event contracts, and resort standards.
- Oversee food and beverage service, ensuring timely execution and impeccable presentation.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and resort departments, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Corporate & Social Event Focus
- Corporate Events: Ensure flawless execution of business conferences, networking events, and executive meetings, maintaining a professional and efficient service atmosphere.
- Weddings & Social Events: Work closely with wedding planners and social event clients to personalize details, ensuring memorable experiences with high-touch service.
- Hybrid & Large-Scale Events: Adapt to high-volume banquet operations, including galas, fundraisers, trade shows and multi-day conferences with multiple breakout sessions.
Team Leadership & Training
- Recruit, train, and oversee banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and event setup teams.
- Conduct pre-event meetings to align staff on event flow, client expectations, and service standards.
- Foster a positive and motivated team culture that emphasizes hospitality, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Guest & Client Relations
- Serve as the main point of contact for banquet clients before, during, and after events.
- Proactively address any last-minute changes or client requests with professionalism.
- Gather post-event feedback and implement improvements to enhance guest satisfaction.
Financial & Inventory Management
- Develop and manage banquet budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining service quality.
- Monitor food, beverage, and supply inventories, optimizing stock levels for upcoming events.
- Assist in pricing banquet packages and menu selections based on market trends and client preferences.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, alcohol service laws, and resort policies.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper handling of banquet equipment and service areas.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years of banquet, catering, or event management experience in a resort, hotel, or conference center.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities in both luxury and high-volume settings.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse clientele.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, banquet setups, and event execution.
- Proficiency in event management software and POS systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weights, stand for extended periods, and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in ServSafe, TIPS (alcohol training), or similar food safety programs.
- Experience handling multi-day conferences, large weddings, and luxury social events.
