We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Banquet Captain to lead and supervise our banquet and event setup staff. The Banquet Captain ensures that all events are executed flawlessly, providing exceptional guest service and satisfaction. This role involves managing staff, coordinating with clients, and overseeing event setup and service to create memorable experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Participate in the hiring, orientation, training, and development of banquet staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Supervise, direct, and motivate banquet and setup staff to achieve high performance.
- Identify disciplinary needs and recommend or implement appropriate actions.
Event Coordination:
- Collaborate with clients to address any concerns or special requests during events.
- Ensure banquet servers are assigned to designated areas or tables for efficient service.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout events, responding promptly to requests or issues.
- Assist with table-side food preparation and beverage service, including wine presentation.
Operations Management:
- Oversee event setup, ensuring all rooms are prepared as specified and on time.
- Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure food and beverages are served promptly.
- Work closely with the Sales and Catering Department to facilitate smooth event execution.
- Supervise events to their conclusion and coordinate setups for the next day.
Inventory & Equipment:
- Maintain and oversee the operational procedures for all audiovisual equipment.
- Assist with monthly inventory of banquet supplies, including chairs, tablecloths, silverware, and glassware.
- Review event billings and forward them to the Front Desk for processing.
Guest Satisfaction:
- Observe and respond to guest needs, ensuring a high standard of service.
- Address and resolve complaints about food or beverage quality, escalating as needed.
- Provide value-added services to exceed guest expectations whenever possible.
Essential Expectations:

- Communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, and management, reporting significant issues as needed.

Qualifications:

- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
