Summary:
Crew members play an instrumental part in the success of each event. Crew members are responsible for installing and dismantling pipe/drape, tables, chairs, carpet, displays, signs, and other equipment as requested by the customer for trade shows, expositions, festivals, and other special events. Crew members have the responsibility to ensure events are set up and dismantled to meet strict deadlines and that equipment is handled with care.
Essential Functions:
- Installs and dismantles pipe, drape, exhibits, furniture, carpet, and related hardware as guided by blueprint
- Constructs portable installations according to specifications
- Assembles and installs prefabricated parts to reconstruct traveling exhibits from sketches submitted by client
- Installs decorations such as flags, banners, signs on or in buildings, exhibit halls, and booths to achieve special effects
- Works with client and supervisors to ensure show or event is set up as planned
- Maintains, repairs, and cleans equipment
- Reviews client orders to ensure all equipment is ready for show
- Loads and unloads materials for show
- May drive loaded vehicle to and from shows

Work Environment:
This position operates in public facilities, warehouses, and large venue-type environments. This role occasionally uses small hand tools to perform tasks. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, and stand/walk for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required include corrected close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Corrected hearing to a normal range is required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
The hours of this position will vary on a daily basis with overtime, evening, and weekend hours required. Layoffs during slow times can be expected. Some travel requiring overnight stays may be necessary. Generally, travel is within Michigan but occasionally, out-of-state travel is required.

Valid driver’s license
Forklift certified and CDL license
