Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with campers in various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate programs and activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and personal development.
- Provide guidance and support to campers, helping them navigate social interactions and challenges.
- Maintain a positive camp atmosphere by modeling appropriate behavior and encouraging respect among all participants.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Assist in the management of camper behavior by implementing effective behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to ensure the smooth operation of camp activities and events.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
Skills
Ideal candidates will possess a combination of the following skills:
- Experience working with students in various settings such as camps or classrooms.
- Knowledge of special education practices to support diverse learning needs.
- Strong classroom management techniques to maintain a productive environment.
- Background in childcare or daycare settings, demonstrating an ability to care for children effectively.
- Experience in tutoring or providing academic support to enhance camper learning experiences.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies to address challenges positively.
- Understanding of Christian counseling principles is a plus for fostering a supportive community.
- Interest or experience in theater, which can be incorporated into camp activities for creative expression.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 4 per week
