Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Shipping Logistics Coordinator to join our team in the Global Product Development & Supply division, supporting the Reference Standard and Critical Reagent (RSCR) Group. This position plays a critical role in managing domestic and global shipment logistics for sensitive biological and pharmaceutical materials. The ideal candidate will have expertise in shipping logistics, cold chain management, and hazardous materials handling in a scientific or regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of shipping logistics for domestic and international shipments, including cold chain shipments and hazardous materials.
- Prepare materials for shipment by selecting appropriate containers, ensuring proper temperature conditions, and adhering to packing requirements for sensitive biological and pharmaceutical products.
- Oversee the preparation of shipping documentation, including invoices, and coordinate with internal and external partners to facilitate smooth movement of materials.
- Update and maintain shipment information in the RSCROS inventory system to ensure data accuracy and continuity for both domestic and international shipments.
- Interface with PPD, Customs, and other internal/external stakeholders to resolve any issues related to shipping, forwarding agents, and customs coordination.
- Support the management of inventory supplies (e.g., TempTales, containers) to ensure that there are sufficient reserves for uninterrupted shipping operations.
- Assist with licensing activities by working with subject matter experts on shipments requiring special licenses, and maintain licensing information in the Customs and Trade tracker.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations, including Hazmat and cold chain requirements, in a GxP (Good Laboratory Practice) environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in biological sciences, chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in scientific shipping logistics (preferably in the pharmaceutical or biologics industry), with expertise in cold chain logistics and hazardous material shipping.
- Certification: Hazmat Shipping Certification is required.
- Skills:
o Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple shipments and logistics operations.
o Experience with cold chain shipping, temperature-sensitive materials, and GxP environments.
o Proficiency in shipping documentation preparation and data management systems (e.g., RSCROS or similar inventory systems).
o Excellent communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
o Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and regulatory requirements.
