What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Restoration Specialist position at ART of Central Texas?
Prism Specialties Art of Central Texas, located in Buda, Texas specializes in restoring works of art, photos or collectibles damaged by fire, smoke and water events. We are seeking a production and customer service minded artist to join our team of restorers. The desired candidate will have a BFA in Studio Art or related field with experience in oil, watercolor, acrylics painting mediums. Framing, sculpting, photoshop, paper restoration or taxidermy experience will be considered a plus!
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Remove, protect and transport artwork from fire or water damaged homes and businesses.
- Disassemble, evaluate and recommend treatments for damaged artwork.
- Apply your art skills and creativity to restore and clean artwork to pre-peril condition
- Prepare estimates and schedules for submission to insurance companies and contractors
- Work efficiently and effectively in a team environment and alone as needed.
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times to represent and build the Prism Art brand with our customers.
- Deliver and install artwork to insured homes or businesses.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications and skills
- Bachelors or Masters in Fine Arts (BFA/MFA).
- Real-world experience in multiple fine-art mediums
- Gallery and/or Museum level art handling or repair experience
- Strong customer relations skills
- Exhibit a professional appearance that represents the Prism ART brand.
- Willingness to work in challenging environments with ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining customer files and work documentation.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.
- Available to work flexible schedules and to travel as needed
- Experience in insurance industry or restoration/contracting industry a plus
Candidate must have a valid drivers license and must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background checks
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
