What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Graphic Designer position at Art of the Event?
Summary: Art of the Event provides exceptional, customized experience for corporate clients and event planners across New England, with the goal of delivering wow-factor at every set up.
The Jr. Graphic Designer is responsible for effectively conceptualizing, designing, and rendering graphical elements for corporate and social events. Jr. Graphic Designer may be called on to participate in any and all parts of the production phases – from concept, proposal writing, production and planning, and day-of execution for graphics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, however other duties may be assigned based on business necessity.
Design
- Plans and illustrates concepts, coordinates with internal team in the design concept phase through completion of a project.
- Provides pricing on request for graphics of different styles and sizes, as required.
- Obtains approval of concepts by preparing rough layouts for review.
- Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
- Obtains final copy and art – using in-house methodologies where possible and working with external vendors when required.
- Coordinates with outside agencies, art services, and printers to complete projects.
- Reviews photos of set-ups and catalogues pictures, editing as necessary.
- Proofs copy and obtains client approval prior to printing.
Event Coordination
- Reviews and prepares graphic materials prior to events launch, ensuring materials have been labelled and delivered to the appropriate contact for onsite execution.
- Attends onsite set up to facilitate graphic installations, as necessary.
- Clean event photos on a timely manner; inventory photos for database.
Communication
- Collaborate with various departments and communicate effectively with employees and leadership.

Education/Experience
- One to three years of experience in graphic design.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, In Design, and Photoshop)
- Bachelor’s degree in an art related field
- Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills
