Quality Analysis Laboratory Technician onsite in Chattanooga, TN.
Contract Duration : 24 months (January 2025 December 2026),
40 hours / week - 1st Shift 8am - 5pm (limited OT)

Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician to support VWGoA Quality Analysis Laboratory with the following tasks :
- Perform tests and evaluations for initial samples for series release of components and assemblies from supplied parts according to Material Test Plans created by Laboratory Analysis Specialists within the specified schedule
- Review supplier test results and documentation package for completeness and accuracy
- Assist Laboratory Analysis Specialists to prepared samples for testing and microscope evaluation (including use of microscope)
Responsibilities : Laboratory Testing :
Utilize Laboratory testing equipment to complete a material test plan created by a Laboratory Analysis Specialist. Perform evaluation to the International, National, and Volkswagen specific standards. Testing and evaluation includes, but is not limited to : environmental cycling, heat aging, weld evaluations, color measurements, microstructure microscopy, paint adhesion, and corrosion properties.Sample Preparation :
All laboratory testing is conducted on complete components and / or assemblies. Therefore, samples for testing must be prepared with various tools including, but not limited to : hand tools, band saw, mounting press, grinding / polishing equipment, and various chemicals.Documentation :
All tests and evaluations must be documented according to International, National, and Volkswagen specific standards including but not limited to : photographic / microscopic evidence, raw data, reasons for evaluation, and completion of test plan as provided by Laboratory Analysis Specialist. Additionally, the supplier documentation including, but not limited to test results must be evaluated for completeness and accuracy according to drawing, standards, and test plan.Communication :
All testing and evaluation with be conduct under a specific time requirement. The status of the testing must be tracked and communicated to Laboratory Analysis Specialist and Manager at regular intervals and as requested. Additionally, in some cases a technical report will be requested by the Laboratory Analysis Specialist or Manager and must be provided upon request.Qualifications :
5 years of laboratory experience with an Automotive OEM or related field
Proficiency in MS Office
Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
Experience with ISO 17025 certified laboratory highly preferred
German and / or Spanish language knowledge preferred
