Job Title: QA Laboratory Technician
Position Summary
This position is a 3-month contract to cover a maternity leave, with potential to convert to permanent based on performance. The QA Laboratory Technician will perform quality and food safety tests, checks, and audits to ensure the quality and food safety of all raw, in-process, and finished goods.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Quality and Food Safety tests, checks, and audits as assigned
- Accurately complete and/or enter electronically all required safety, quality, and manufacturing control documents and information
- Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a hazard-free work area
- Use Personal Protective Equipment as required and/or appropriate
- Attend all Safety training and other Safety activities
- Notify teammates when they compromise Safe Operating Procedures
- Report near misses, accidents, or suspected injuries in a timely manner
- Complete Safety Work Orders when appropriate
- Participate in Safety initiatives, committees, and teams
- Report unsafe conditions and behaviors
- Never take shortcuts or use improper tools/equipment that could compromise the Safety of themselves or others
Requirements:
- Previous Quality or Lab work in a food manufacturing facility is a plus
- Four-year degree with some chemistry is preferred but not required
- Two years of college with related work experience is acceptable
Working Conditions:
This position requires standing for long periods of time, repetitive motion may be required in some areas of the operation, and PPE is required depending on job task being performed.
