We are a large property located in Sun City Center, FL responsible for the irrigation of an 800 acre property. We have over 1600 zones and 54 Baseline controllers. We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Irrigation Superintendent to join our team. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are dedicated to delivering outstanding service.
The Irrigation Superintendent is a critical leader in Operations. They handle the day-to-day business of running all field aspects of irrigation inspections, maintenance and repairs. They are an experienced construction superintendent whose duties include managing field production, crews, safety, subcontractors, scheduling, material want lists, quality, and client relationships. The Irrigation Superintendent is primarily a field position that works directly with both clients and vendors, and reports to the General Manager.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the inspection, maintenance and repair of all irrigation and supply lines and couplings, spray heads, rotor heads, drip lines and all irrigation delivery systems’ mechanical and electronic components and parts, wiring, valve controls and all components and parts to include soil moisture sensors, rain sensors, irrigation controllers and other equipment related to or part of the irrigation delivery system
- Manage 10 irrigation technicians
- Manage crew labor to budgets
- Create and manage the project schedules
- Prioritization of the workload
- Ensure 114 wet checks are completed monthly
- Oversee all major repairs including mainline breaks, lateral repairs, valve replacements, etc.
- Hire crew employees
- Develop and train crew employees daily, build a strong team
- Enforce project safety
- Help create policies and procedures
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors
- Work closely with Water Manager to ensure compliance with SWFWMD regulations
- Experience working with mechanical fittings (MJ)
- Perform quality control field walks / inspections
- Manage weekly labor and maintenance reports
- Inventory control
- Maintain tools, ATV’s and tablets
- Have a good attitude and work well with others
- Perform other related duties as required
