What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Artemis?
We are a fully integrated company providing extraction and processing services to a global market. We are uniquely positioned in the market and experiencing rapid growth, so we continue to expand the team and are looking for individuals who can level up in their roles and help steward the direction of the department and organization. We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting team, providing oversight of technical accounting treatments, day-to-day processing, and internal controls. This individual must possess a strong understand of control frameworks and be a champion of process to ensure we maintain integrity of the financials as we continue to grow and scale.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounting team members and all accounting activity across the full general ledger.
- Guide the month-end close and lead continuous improvement in the close processes to expedite timelines and increase accuracy in the financials.
- Assist the Controller in preparing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including variance reporting and recommendations.
- Review and approve the daily transactions and general ledger activity including journal entries, account reconciliations, invoicing, payments, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, etc.
- Support the development and management of operational KPIs and management metrics.
- Enforce strict adherence to the company policies and procedures and lead improvements in the accounting processes to ensure continued compliance to GAAP requirements.
- Partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders to continuously strengthen accounting processes that support the individual departments' goals and operations.
- Assist with the research and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
- Support internal control audits and year-end financial audits, working with external partners and providing necessary documents and reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related - required
- 1 year with Big 4 or large national firm
- 7 years of experience, including 3 years in managing direct reports
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP with some exposure to SOX compliance
- Ability to be agile and pivot in a fast-paced environment
- Must be deadline drive and able to manage deliverables
- Desire to coach and mentor staff up in their roles and careers within the organization
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
