Merchandising Planning and Inventory Manager
Uno Alla Volta is looking for a Merchandising Planning & Inventory Manager to support the planning and inventory team in forecasting demand and purchasing inventory for a diverse range of products. The successful candidate's expertise in data-driven decision-making will ensure optimal stock levels that align with our business objectives. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams will allow this individual to enhance sales performance and improve profitability while maintaining our unique brand identity and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities for this position, include but are not limited to:
- Manages the overall inventory flow to ensure appropriate items are in stock for each drop, minimize preorders, and achieve company turn goals and cash flow goals.
- Forecasts seasonal sales to meet the demand of each item the merchandising team selects for placement in catalogs, online, mailers, etc.
- Reacts to business trends due to overselling or underselling of products.
- Manages purchase orders from creation to receiving. Monitors and manages delivery dates to ensure positive customer expectations, follows up with vendors and addresses as needed.
- Reviews overall stock overages and follow the established markdown cadence to ensure inventory does not become aged.
- Manages and projects open to buy and works with the appropriate individuals on status and concerns.
- Responsible for weekly business recap reporting.
- Communicates and collaborates with others and shares information in various meetings on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more years of retail merchandise planning, inventory management, demand planning and/or forecasting experience is required, preferably in an apparel or eCommerce environment.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, inventory control, business, accounting, retail, or a similar field is preferred.
- A solid working knowledge of ERP's and Microsoft Office with expertise in Excel and pivot tables is required.
- Experience with purchase order systems, and inventory management practices and procedures.
- An understanding of forecasting and retail math and the ability to anticipate, identify, react to, and resolve problems.
- An understanding of logistics, freight quoting, tariff codes, and landing process is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changes, and meet deadlines is required.
