Full Job Description
We are a busy Rheumatology office looking for a team member who has experience in medical assisting. Must be friendly, cheerful, and a team player. This is a full time position, Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm. We are an established practice who provides competitive wages with medical facilities in area. Salary will be based on experience.
Duties Include:
- Rooming patients
- Taking Vital Signs
- Updating medication information
- Administrating Injections
- Answering phone calls and returning messages
- Using the EMR (eClinical Works proficiency a plus)
- Verifying patient insurance
- Obtaining prior authorizations and referrals when needed
- Obtaining appropriate consents
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying the providers of patient's arrival, being aware of delays and communicating with patients and clinical staff
- Scheduling and canceling appointments while ensuring that the schedule is balanced for the provider
- Directing issues or potential issues to the designated provider
- Prepares patients for examination/appointment
- Assists provider during appointments as needed
- Reports consistent patient data in a concise and thorough manner. Identifies patients' needs at appointment time through written and verbal interactions.
- Works with other Medical Assistants and clinical staff in guiding patient care under the direct supervision of the provider.
Qualifications
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
- High School Grad or Equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Reading Comprehension

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
