Full Job Description

We are a busy Rheumatology office looking for a team member who has experience in medical assisting. Must be friendly, cheerful, and a team player. This is a full time position, Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm. We are an established practice who provides competitive wages with medical facilities in area. Salary will be based on experience.

Duties Include:

  • Rooming patients
  • Taking Vital Signs
  • Updating medication information
  • Administrating Injections
  • Answering phone calls and returning messages
  • Using the EMR (eClinical Works proficiency a plus)
  • Verifying patient insurance
  • Obtaining prior authorizations and referrals when needed
  • Obtaining appropriate consents
  • Facilitates patient flow by notifying the providers of patient's arrival, being aware of delays and communicating with patients and clinical staff
  • Scheduling and canceling appointments while ensuring that the schedule is balanced for the provider
  • Directing issues or potential issues to the designated provider
  • Prepares patients for examination/appointment
  • Assists provider during appointments as needed
  • Reports consistent patient data in a concise and thorough manner. Identifies patients' needs at appointment time through written and verbal interactions.
  • Works with other Medical Assistants and clinical staff in guiding patient care under the direct supervision of the provider.

Qualifications

  • EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
  • High School Grad or Equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
