Primary Purpose:
The Cyber Security Analyst (Level 1) conducts vulnerability scans, threat hunting, documentation, and mitigation support to the entire Schuman Cheese Company. This individual will work closely with our co-managed vendors to ensure the corporate network's security. The Cyber Security Level 1 Analyst will be at our Fairfield, NJ office five days a week (Monday – Friday). This individual will coordinate with other IT staff to deliver prompt and practical solutions. The Cyber Security Analyst (Level 1) will maintain and update the management team on potential issues.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices and maintain situational awareness of cyber activity by reviewing new vulnerabilities, malware, or other threats that could impact the organization.
- Knowledge and understanding of Cyber Security Frameworks such as MITRE, NIST, etc.
- Configuration and monitor systems and endpoints for security incidents.
- Coordinate resources during enterprise incident response efforts, driving incidents to timely and complete resolution.
- Recommend remediation and recovery strategies and suggest defensive policy enhancements and information technology procedures.
- Deliver status reports, briefings, recommendations, and findings to management and executives as required.
- Use various tools to investigate incidents and take immediate action or recommend a course of action to safeguard the Schuman network.
- Monitor and respond to security-related alerts triggered in the SIEM.
- Work with Help Desk during overflow situations.
- Be available for emergency after-hours security issues.
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time by the manager
Qualifications
Education, Qualities and Skills Required:
- 1 years of experience handling security events related to viruses/malware, detection and analysis, email security, endpoint detection, and response.
- 2 years of experience in information technology, working with operating systems, mobile devices, etc.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Organized, responsive, and comprehensive problem solver.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct report responsibility.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time salaried position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Expectations of 45 hours per week, to be worked during normal business hours. This position is full time on-site.
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements of this position are similar to those found in an office position and include standing/sitting for extended periods of time, operating traditional office equipment, i.e., computer, printer, etc, and the ability to safely walk to, from and around the warehouse on even walking surfaces. This role will be often exposed to temperatures between 33-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
