We are looking for a full time 1st Shift Heavy Assembler
Hours are M-Th 7 : 00am-4 : 30pm
Friday 7 : 00am-11 : 00am.
Starting pay $16 / hr
JOB SUMMARY :
Assemble products, such as, caster rigs and wheels of various materials, using hand tools and portable powered tools. May operate riveting machine to assist in assembly operation. Performs any combination of the following repetitive tasks on assembly line to mass-produce casters assemblies.
Final product must be properly packaged. Order verification must be performed and product must be packed to prevent damage.
The Assembler reports to the Production Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Assemble a variety of products or sub-assemblies of different parts.
- Ensure that parts conform to standard tolerances.
- Requires aligning, fitting, and adjusting parts to meet operating requirements of products.
- Use of hand tools and / or power tools during assembly.
- Interpret work instructions from the bill of material.
- Notify supervisor of any discrepancy with the bill of material, inventory shortages, or bad parts.
- Packing duties include part identification and verification of counts against pick tickets.
- Pack product properly to prevent damage in transit
- Print clearly and neatly on packing boxes, applying weight restraints on small boxes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 1
Ability to follow work instructions
Ability to understand and interpret work procedures
Ability to work well in a team based work environment
Grade 2
Grade 1 – Plus
At least 1-2 years experience in light industrial assembly
Trained to work at 3-5 work stations
Routinely rotates between work stations
Routinely lifts up to 20 lb. product
Grade 3
Grade 2 - Plus
At least 3-5 years experience in light industrial assembly
Trained to work at more than 5 work stations
Routinely coordinates work
Routinely lifts up to 40 lb. product
Ability to serves as a resource for other team members in Assembly department
Ability to identify and rectify problems in Assembly
