Articulture Designs, a high-end plantscape (interior and exterior) design and maintenance firm is seeking a qualified plant care specialist to care for plants at a number of residential and commercial clients, as well as on our grounds.
About the Job
The Horticultural Plant Technician is responsible for a set group of commercial and residential clients on a set schedule to keep their plants and plantscapes in a beautiful, healthy state.
Regular Plant Technician duties include (but is not limited to):
- Watering and fertilizing all plants as necessary
- · Maintaining appropriate light conditions and orientation
- Deadheading (removing any damaged or unsightly leaves, etc.)
- Pruning, trimming, and removing debris from planters
- Keeping all plants free from diseases and insects
- Maintaining beautiful appearance of top dressing and other ornamental elements
- Preventing damage to surrounding floors, walls, carpet, furniture, etc. from water and/or moisture
- ·Addressing client concerns and ensuring clients are happy, satisfied, and pleased with your service
About You
To be qualified for this position you must be dependable, hardworking, and maintain a positive attitude. We are close-knit team, and team chemistry is just as important as job skill.
Minimum qualifications include (but are not limited to):
- Prior experience maintaining plants and plantscapes with solid plant knowledge
- Experience interacting with clients
- Have own reliable transportation to travel from client to client (mileage compensation provided)
- Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds independently
- Able to climb ladders and work on ladders
- Experience using pruners, shears, and other sharp objects
- You must be detail-oriented; we don’t do good work, we do great work
In order to perform this job safely, it requires good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, communication, and critical thinking skills. The ability to safely load and unload heavy equipment is also necessary.
