Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Quality Engineer to lead and implement Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies in improving product quality and operational processes. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with quality standards, reducing waste, and enhancing manufacturing efficiency. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, drive quality initiatives, and support the development of a continuous improvement culture.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Improvement :
Analyze current manufacturing and quality control processes to identify areas for improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
Drive initiatives to reduce defects, enhance product quality, and minimize production costs.
Root Cause Analysis :
Investigate and resolve quality issues by performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of corrective actions over time.
Documentation :
Develop and maintain quality documentation, including process flowcharts, control plans, FMEA, and SOPs.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration :
Partner with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality is maintained throughout the production lifecycle.
Work with suppliers to improve the quality of incoming materials and resolve any quality issues.
Performance Metrics :
Establish and monitor key quality metrics, such as defect rates, process capability indices, and customer satisfaction scores.
Prepare and present reports on quality performance and improvement initiatives.
Training and Mentoring :
Provide training on quality standards, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies to employees at all levels.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
Mandatory Skills and Requirements :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Certification : Lean Manufacturing and / or Six Sigma certification (Black Belt or Green Belt) is highly preferred.
Experience : 7-10 years of experience in quality engineering or a related role in a manufacturing environment.
Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to quality challenges.
Statistical Tools : Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality management tools.
Communication : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy in documenting and analyzing processes.
