Job Summary: As a maintenance engineer, you will be expected to fix and maintain mechanical equipment, conduct preventative maintenance, and perform outdoor & landscaping duties. Tasks include plumbing work, painting, moving items to different locations of the hotel and/or storage, flooring repair and upkeep, basic electrical and HVAC repairs.
Working with our Chief Engineer and Maintenance Team to ensure all the details for a great guest experience are exceeded; such as maintaining and the upkeep of guest rooms, pools, and common space.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform and maintain work to local, state and federal codes
- Perform general and preventative maintenance to guestrooms and public areas
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests
- Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and comply with OSHA standards
- Work as a shuttle driver in the event of staffing shortages or during peak check in/out periods; if needed
- Perform all assigned work requests on all electrical and mechanical equipment
- Adhere to all work policies and procedures established by the company
- Make repairs to masonry, woodwork and furnishings, patch or replace plaster, paint walls, ceilings, and trim
- Paint designated areas – Inside commons areas, guest rooms, outside of building, etc.
- Perform outside landscaping duties – mowing, weeding, trimming, watering, garbage removal, clearing/cleaning parking lot of debris.
- Maintain beach clean-up, raking, prepping for events
- Clear sidewalks and entrances to the hotel of ice and snow during inclement weather; including shoveling, snowplowing, snow blowing, etc.
- Complete daily checklists
- Clean all work areas after completion
- Provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times
- Report daily to the Chief Engineer regarding any issues
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Must have strong skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical
- Skills in HVAC are preferred, but not essential
- Ability to respond effectively during emergency procedures
