Engineer
With offices located in both the Upper Peninsula and in Traverse City, Michigan Broadband Services is a local provider of FTTH, internet, video, and telephony services. We are currently seeking a full-time Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain telecommunications systems and services, including fiber deployment and distribution.
- Develop and interpret detailed design drawings and specifications for telecommunications equipment and systems.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for telecommunications projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system requirements and develop solutions.
- Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in telecommunications technology.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Licensed professional engineer.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the engineering industry, with a focus on telecommunications.
- Proven experience in fiber deployment and distribution.
- Proficient in developing and interpreting design drawings.
- Experience in obtaining permits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems and services.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using computer software and applications related to engineering and telecommunications.
