Position is based at 108 North Maple, Nowata, OK 74048. Position requires availability Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
SUMMARY: Under close supervision, the Business Banking Specialist will learn to apply their personable, intuitive and strategic approach skills to engage with and discover the needs of prospective small business customers in this entry level professional sales position. The incumbent will initiate a relationship with the customer and determine how best to segment their needs. The incumbents’ main focus involves establishing and managing relationships with business customers by offering appropriate business and personal banking solutions. Focus is also on building relationships with businesses and the owner’s through a sustained outside calling program. Responsibilities will include learning Arvest products and services; cross selling all financial products, both personal and business; to the small business customer and assisting with processing business loan requests through appropriate departments. Usually assists on simpler accounts and/or smaller businesses, as instructed. While learning the sales role, the incumbent also is responsible for learning effective ways to network in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deliver general banking products to the business banking customer, with an emphasis on developing the entire customer relationship through cross-selling and customer service.
- Perform weekly calls to potential and existing customers to cultivate future “centers of influence”, as directed.
- Generate sales opportunities by making outbound calls to potential customers by phone to communicate Arvest Bank and subsidiaries in the assigned geographic territory, as instructed.
- Develop prospects through professional referrals and bank referrals.
- Establish account objectives and guidelines for all relationships within established bank guidelines.
- Complete CFB4 and effectively demonstrate ability to apply sales techniques and principles.
- Follow up with referrals from branches with face to face customer calls and selling of Arvest products and services, as directed.
- Contribute to the achievement of branch sales goals through a consultative sales approach with new and existing customers following the sales process defined in the CFB Retail Sales Playbook.
- Accurately document details of identified opportunities for timely follow up on leads.
- Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
- Cross-sell other services of the bank.
- Support and uphold the Arvest Mission Statement.
- Uphold the Arvest Code of Ethics and ensure that confidential information is safeguarded.
- Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all associates in order to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service.
- Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation.
- Promote professionalism at all times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s Degree in Business or equivalent required
- 1 year prior sales experience required.
- Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
- Relationship building and/or networking experience preferred
- Knowledge of Arvest banking products preferred
- Must be able to arrive at work on time, work on site and have regular work attendance
