Position is located at 502 S. Main Mall, Tulsa, OK 74103.

Hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with ability to work extra hours as needed.

SUMMARY: The TM - International Banking Specialist 1 processes incoming and outgoing documentary collections and maintains the domestic standby letter of credit portfolio of Arvest Bank. The incumbent ensures the proper handling of auto-extending letters of credit, communicating any amendments to the beneficiaries, including but not limited to insurance companies, state agencies and municipalities. The incumbent also provides departmental administrative support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Issue domestic standby letter of credit amendments initiated by commercial customers and manage the high-risk portfolio of auto-extending letters of credit (LCs) per department procedures.
• Process import and export documentary collections (DCs), including tracking maturity dates, sending acceptances, and making payments under import DCs, as well as providing payment tracing and final settlement on export DCs.
• Process all participation purchased transactions received from Agent banks to reflect the proper global liability outstanding.
• Issue domestic standby letters of credit from start to finish, ensuring all internal procedures have been followed and verifying them for compliance with International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) governing rules.
• Provide direction to associates with new LC requests, including providing instructions on steps required to issue the LC and quoting and collection of fees owed. Verify that a signed Promissory Note has been received prior to LC issuance or modification.
• Mitigate risk to the bank by providing know your customer (KYC) due diligence on international transactions and assist Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) risk management in identifying economic and trade sanctions against targeted foreign states, organizations and individuals as set forth by OFAC (Office of Foreign Asset Control).
• Monitor and complete scheduled billings, renewals, liability increases/decreases, invoicing, and monthly interest payment draws under letters of credit backing bond issuances.
• Prepare and report monthly outstanding liability reports and fee income reports for supervisor’s approval.
• Perform administrative duties and other duties as assigned such as ordering supplies, paying departmental invoices, answering customer queries regarding debit/credits, making GL entries as required by reconciliation, imaging completed transactions and completing files per department procedures.
• Track and assist in expanding Arvest Bank’s network of SWIFT authenticated banks with which we may share authenticated messages.
• Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to job duties. This includes but is not limited to completing compliance training and adhering to internal procedures and controls, reporting any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations, and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (Finance, Economics, Accounting, etc.) or equivalent relevant experience with banking solutions required
• 2 years banking experience required
• Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Word & PowerPoint required
• Knowledge of UCP600, ISP98, URC522 and current compliance regulations preferred
• International banking experience preferred
• Arvest experience preferred.
