The Day Program Supervisor for As One Inc. is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a day program for individuals with disabilities. This role involves ensuring that individuals receive appropriate care, support, and engagement in an enriching environment, while promoting independence, personal development, and community integration. The supervisor will lead a team of staff and collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and community organizations to provide high-quality services. It is a fast-paced job with lots of paperwork. The candidate will need to be organized and able to multitask. The candidate must be able to assist in physical behaviors.
Typical Work Performed
- Reports directly to As One Program Manager.
- Assigns and directs employees in their supervision of clients;
- Ensures the health and safety of clients;
- Completes IPP and ISP reports in a timely manner.
- Communicates directly with Leads to assign duties on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Completes client's monthly activity schedules and adjust as needed to meet client needs.
- Complete staff daily schedule and adjust as needed for call outs and time off requests.
- Ensure all vocational tasks are completed are completed to the specification of As One Management.
- Manage consumer’s records and monitor their progress.
- Assess program effectiveness at achieving consumer’s goals.
- Maintain adequate supplies, materials, food, and emergency equipment to meet consumer’s needs.
- Coordinate plans and flow of information between program, home and families/conservators.
- Ensures all client IPP reports are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensures monthly schedules of all As One crews and activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensures that all Vocational tasks are completed to the specifications of As One management.
- Ensure that all equipment utilized for shift is in good working condition, cleaned and properly put away at end of shift.
- Reports all incidents and occurrences to the Program Manager, including all incidents of possible abuse or neglect.
- Provide transportation of consumers and staff as required using company vehicles and/or personal vehicles.
- Present self appropriately and as a role model for consumers and other support staff while on shift with As One, working and/or representing As One's consumers, peers or programs.
- Attend weekly contact meetings with Management and staff.
- Attend all required in-service training, as well as any additional training assigned by Management.
- Facilitates necessary communication, both verbal and written of matters which are essential to all staff; and
- Follow As One schedule and plans, ensuring that consumers are active and always given choices.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of direct support professionals (DSPs), instructors, and other program staff.
- Provide regular supervision, coaching, and feedback to staff members.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff members.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss participant progress, program needs, and address any concerns or issues.
- Prepare regular reports for program evaluations and funding agencies, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years’ supervisory experience in the field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Possess a Bachelors or Higher level of education
- Possess a valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Possess a current certification or has been previously trained in CPI;
- Possess a current CA Drivers License;
- Dependable vehicle to use during working hours; and
- Have the ability to work with very difficult behaviors, including sexually inappropriate behaviors.
