Summary
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of a Low Voltage Systems Projects, from initial design and planning to final system commissioning, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations, while coordinating with clients, technicians, subcontractors, and other stakeholders throughout the process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reviewing project blueprints and specifications to understand the scope of work.
- Developing detailed project schedules, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Estimating project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Identifying potential challenges and mitigation strategies.
- Maintaining open communication with clients regarding project progress, changes, and any potential issues.
- Addressing client concerns and managing expectations.
- Presenting project updates and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Managing and coordinating the work of installation technicians, electricians, and other project team members.
- Assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Providing technical support and guidance to field personnel.
- Conducting site surveys to assess project requirements and potential obstacles.
- Coordinating with other trades and contractors on site to ensure proper installation sequencing.
- Managing material procurement and delivery to the job site.
- Ensuring all fire alarm systems are installed according to relevant codes and standards (NFPA 72).
- Reviewing project drawings and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and resolving any discrepancies.
- Performing regular quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure proper functionality.
- Assist in completing final system testing and commissioning procedures.
- Preparing project documentation including as-built drawings, record of completions, system manuals, and warranty information.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of fire alarm system design, installation, and maintenance principles.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and safety regulations (NFPA 72).
- Proven project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, technicians, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Technical certifications in fire alarm systems (NICET) preferred.
