Job Description:
The IT Infrastructure Lead is responsible for managing the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and cloud services. This role involves ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of the IT infrastructure to support business operations. This role reports to the Technology Director.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure components.
Ensure the reliability and scalability of servers, and storage systems.
System Management:
Monitor and manage IT systems, including servers and other infrastructure components.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain performance and security.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT infrastructure from threats.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
Monitoring and Maintenance:
Monitor IT infrastructure performance and availability, proactively addressing potential issues.
Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
Project Management:
Lead infrastructure-related projects, from planning and design to implementation and support.
Manage infrastructure budgets and ensure projects are completed within scope and budget.
Disaster Recovery:
Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
Conduct regular tests and updates of disaster recovery procedures.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
Prepare regular reports on infrastructure performance, issues, and improvement plans.
Required Skills:
Technical Proficiency:
Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage).
Proficiency in virtualization and cloud technologies.
Experience with infrastructure monitoring and management tools.
Security Skills:
Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
Experience with implementing and managing security measures (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).

Requirements:Required Education and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
Experience with infrastructure monitoring and management tools.
Experience in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Experience with implementing and managing IT security measures.
Experience in vendor management and negotiating contracts.
Experience in the mining industry or other industries is preferred.
