ASARCO Ray mining operation, a 250,000 TPD hard rock open pit copper mine located 64 miles southeast between Phoenix and 70 miles northeast Tucson, Arizona.

We are looking for motivated students with a strong interest in the mining industry. Our internship program is 10 weeks long, in which you will receive important industry training and get involved in meaningful real-world projects like planning a program, designing a process, or implementing technology. The culmination of your program will include an opportunity to present your work to management.

As an intern, you will work on exciting projects that drive innovation in mining, focusing on data analysis, process improvement, and technology implementation. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced environment while working alongside industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with data analysis and reporting for technology-driven projects
- Support process improvements and system implementations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project tasks and milestones
Skills & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (Excel, Python, etc.)
- Basic understanding of mining or industrial technology is a plus
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Experience Required: No previous experience required.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Frequent sitting, standing, walking and some exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures* (*not for all majors)Duration: Requires at least a ten-week internship commitment between mid-May and mid-August.
