JOB SUMMARY:
Lead and motivate Technology Product Engineers (TPEs). Train engineers on technical support, call plan management, and client relationship techniques. Develop and execute training plans related to TPE critical skills. Provide expert level support in researching and solving technical problems. Manage escalation of technical issues and interface with manufacturer and vendor product support resources. Work with TPEs to develop communication plans for external and internal clients (account managers, product support representatives, and client services managers). Offer expert level support to TPE’s in the identification and implementation of optimal product and service solutions. Develop, maintain, and promote positive working relationships with co-workers, clients (internal/external), and manufacturer personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead and motivate TPEs for assigned areas. Manage performance through regular, timely, formal, and informal feedback. Assist with the selection of TPEs.
Provide training and development to enhance individual and team productivity, safety, and profitability.
Prioritize, assign, and monitor work to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, and impact.
Coordinate support activities and technical communication with business partners and manufactures.
Maintain an expert level of understanding of manufacturer product support mechanisms and interface with them appropriately.
Oversee issue escalation and monitor proper tracking of follow-up activities in business systems.
Make decisions and recommend actions to solve product problems. Escalate issues appropriately.
Provide expert level consulting and support with technology products and related systems and services for assigned accounts.
Supervise installations of technology products and services. Assist less experienced with product installations, repairs software and hardware updates as necessary.
Travel to job sites and outlying locations as needed. Occasional overnight travel required.
Manage P-Card expenses for self and all assigned staff.
Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.
Work safely at all times and make safety the highest priority. Comply with all company and client policies, procedures, and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist manager with the development of yearly budget. Oversee TPE’s expenses to ensure consistency with budget.
Create and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external clients and staff.
Delegate without removing responsibility.
Lead and encourage others to promote solutions-oriented thinking.
Stay up to date with manufacturer technology service letters and distribute information appropriately.
Learn and effectively use business partner and manufacturer systems and procedures.
Promote and utilize business systems to track client contacts, services, and other business activities as appropriate.
Maintain training aids, tools, and equipment.
Manage spares and parts inventory effectively to support clients.
Complete site-specific training and pit driving, as required.
Provide on-the-job training to technicians, sales and support staff, and clients as necessary.
Maintain valid driver’s license and suitable driving record for the purposes of business travel.
Develop relationships that inspire trust and confidence in the company as a preferred technology solutions provider.
Maintain open communications with manager and team members.
Communicate effectively to clarify instructions, solve technical related issues, and discuss scope and progress of jobs.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong computer skills to include e-mail, Microsoft Office, networking, software installation, registry editing, hardware specification analysis, Internet, fleet management software, and work order applications.

In depth knowledge of analog and digital sensors and their application and utilization to augment GPS data.
Ability to read electrical system diagrams for the purposes of performing installations and repairs.
Perform advanced trouble shooting for digital and analog electronic components, electrical wiring, and related mechanical systems.
Strong grasp of electrical circuit theory and ability to read electrical schematics.
Ability to travel out of town for days at a time and adjust schedule to work evenings or weekends as necessary.
Ability to achieve MSHA certification, if applicable.
Ability to use a multi-meter and test for voltage, current, and continuity.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of GPS surveying methods.
Strong mechanical knowledge and skills. Knowledge of fabrication practices and ability to use hand and portable power tools.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision on a daily basis.
Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Minimum of 5 years of information technology and machine control and guidance systems experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Survey Technology, Computer Science, or IT with a focus on networking or equivalent work experience.
Project management experience preferred.
Maintain current valid driver’s license.
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
