POSITION OVERVIEW
Under general supervision, supervise, coordinate, and control the safe and efficient operation of assigned work group.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Key responsibilities would include:
· Assigning, supervising, and reviewing the work of assigned staff
· Implement production plans according to the approved schedule
· Trains assigned staff in safety procedures
· Possibly participate in a full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult
· Inspects and evaluates work in progress, identifies potential issues and directs remedial action
· Prepare estimates of staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activities
· Purchase needed equipment and materials for projected work activities
· Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff
· Maintains an inventory of needed parts and materials
· Perform daily reporting activities.
· Prepare samples and reports to the lab and management to ensure proper plant optimization.
· Enforce safe practices, ensure safe conditions, and promote a safe attitude among crew members.
· Comply with environmental requirements and promote environmental awareness among crew members.
· Ensure notifications are written on faulty or unsafe equipment.
· Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.
· Perform other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this role, you must have:
· High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in a technical mining related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience or equivalent experience working in a mining or industrial environment
· Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required
· Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods, and procedures needed to complete assigned work
· Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
· Skilled in following safe practices and recognizing hazards
· Must be able to work rotating shifts and holidays (24/7/365 operation).
· Prior SXEW (Hydromet) experience of one year desirable.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
· English language fluency.
o At least CEFR B2 - Upper Intermediate: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
