Job Summary
The Child Care Assistant Director plays a pivotal role in supporting the overall management and operation of a child care facility. This position involves collaborating with the Director to ensure high-quality educational programs and a safe, nurturing environment for children. The Assistant Director will also engage with staff, parents, and the community to promote the center's mission and values while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operations of the child care center, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and organizational policies.
- Support the Director in developing and implementing educational programs that meet the developmental needs of children.
- Supervise staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to enhance their professional growth.
- Collaborate with families to address concerns and provide resources for child development and education.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a licensed center and previous experience working in an early childhood classroom setting.
- Have a CDA or at least 9 early childhood hours or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Valid Kansas Driver License
